This year marks a significant milestone for Quadra Marine Services! What began as a personal interest has grown into a trusted part of the community, built on hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for boating. Led by Louis and Angharad Howe, this family-run business has navigated an incredible journey over the past decade.

The story of Quadra Marine Services starts with Angharad’s father, whose passion for boating turned what began as a personal hobby into something much bigger. His love for the water led him to a bold idea, why not share that passion with others? He decided to start importing boats from Nashville, a move that would lay the groundwork for what became Quadra Marine Services. 

The business began in Whitland, driven by a desire to provide high-quality vessels to boat enthusiasts. As the company grew, so did the need for more space. Recognising this, the business moved first to East Llanion and then to Neyland, expanding to serve a growing customer base.  

However, the real turning point came when it became clear they needed even more room, a dedicated workshop, and bigger storage. This led to the decision to relocate again, this time to Milford Haven, where they discovered the space they needed at Milford Waterfront. 

Angharad, who had always been surrounded by boats, was immersed in the world of boating from a very young age. Sharing her father’s passion, she started working alongside him in the family business by the age of 13. Her dedication to the industry was clear from the start. As the business grew, so did the services offered, allowing Quadra to become a trusted familiar name in the local boating community. 

Louis’ connection to boating started even earlier, he was on his first boat trip at just one week old! Growing up surrounded by boats, it became a natural part of his life. In 2007, Louis entered the marine industry, eager to apply his interest in boats to a professional career.  

Over the years, he gained valuable experience and by the time he joined Quadra Marine Services in 2016, Louis had built a solid foundation of knowledge and was ready to help take the business to the next level. 

Over the years, they’ve grown Quadra’s range of services to cover everything from engine sales and servicing to storage solutions and boat care. They’ve introduced specialised offerings such as electronic installations, trailer servicing, boat delivery within the Cleddau Estuary, and everything in between, providing full support for all boating needs with a focus on care and professionalism. 

When asked to sum up the last decade in one word, the answer was "whirlwind." The marine industry has changed dramatically over the past 10 years, and Quadra has adapted to these changes every step of the way.  

The company’s offerings have expanded, and they are currently part of Wales’s largest yacht brokerage, Yachts.co (powered by Network Yacht Brokers).  

As they celebrate this incredible milestone, Louis and Angharad are looking ahead with excitement and ambition. They’re ready to embrace even greater growth in the years to come. With ongoing partnerships with international networks and an unwavering commitment to putting customers first, the future looks brighter than ever.
