P1 Powerboat & Jet Ski Racing
P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea at Milford Waterfront
On 15th and 16th July this year, Milford Waterfront will host the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea, part of the international P1 SuperStock Championship series. Previously held in Cardiff, the race is moving to Milford, and we’re proud to be this high-octane event’s new home.
Top powerboat racers will battle it out on a course that’s close to shore, tight and fast, which makes for a great spectacle and demands everything of the powerboat drivers and their navigators. It’s high adrenaline, fast, furious and great fun to watch.
Alongside the powerboat races there’ll be a P1 AquaX series, in which amateur and pro personal watercraft riders are invited to compete. Because of ever changing coastal conditions, the rider’s skill becomes more important than the horsepower. P1 AquaX races will be held throughout the weekend and races are split into 3 categories: 200hp, 250hp and 300hp. Full training is given to riders, so anyone can take part. Find out more about how to compete by visiting the P1 AquaX website here.
The on-water action will also include high energy jet ski freestyle displays performed by the World and former British champion, Lee Stone and Jason Bleasdale and will also see international flyboarder, Sonnie Bean wowing the crowds with his flips and tricks.
Enjoy the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea at Milford Waterfront in style at the VIP Hospitality area, located on Mackerel Quay. Coverage of the racing, along with refreshments and entertainment will be provided on both days. Plus the race teams will visit the VIP Hospitality area through the day, and VIP guests will be able to put their names down on arrival to experience the action from the water on a VIP boat tour.*
Alternatively, enjoy the action live from the Premium ticketed area which will include waterside viewing, coverage of the racing on a big screen, live entertainment from Radio Pembrokeshire, and access to the P1 Race Village. A showcase of west Wales’ most delicious food and refreshments will be available for guests to buy on the day, as well as a selection of trade stands selling everything from local produce to handmade Welsh gifts and clothing.
