Introducing ‘Visit Milford Haven’ – our town’s volunteer-led tourism group, with a passion for developing a warm visitor welcome and commitment to celebrating all of the fantastic businesses and tourism news in our unique corner of Pembrokeshire.

Working together to showcase all that Milford Haven has to offer visitors, celebrating our sense of place and providing a warm welcome to grow a sustainable tourism economy

Visit Milford Haven

The tide has brought many legendary visitors and industrial developments to the safe shelter of historic Milford Haven. Vikings, future kings, shipping merchants, Quaker whalers from Nantucket, Royal Naval ship builders, Admiral Lord Nelson, Barti Ddu, fishing boats large and small, and the pioneering industries that made Milford Haven the UK’s largest energy port have all had important roles in our fascinating history.

Milford Haven embarked on its most important chapter of reinvention in the early 1990s. The decline in fishing presented an opportunity to create a leisure destination to support marine leisure, and the 1991 Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race really galvanised the town’s vision to become a new tourism destination to welcome the world.

Now, with Milford Haven growing in popularity as a visitor destination, day and overnight visitor numbers are growing year on year, with our guests pleasantly surprised by all of the great places that Milford Haven has to eat, shop, visit and explore. The Torch Theatre, a great calendar of major events delivered by Milford Waterfront and Milford Haven Round Table, a Visit Wales ‘Hidden Gem’ in Milford Haven Museum, leisure boat trips, Phoenix Bowl, Milford Waterfront parkrun, visiting cruise ships and over 500 boats visiting Milford Marina each year are just some of the positive stories, and it’s Visit Milford Haven’s mission to celebrate our heritage, our local business community, positive future developments in tourism, and to ensure that our visitors receive a warm welcome when they visit.
