We spoke to Vanessa to find out what makes the boutique so special, and why so many customers travel to visit in person.

What can customers expect when they visit Image by Vanessa for the first time, and how does your personal approach shape that experience? 

From the moment someone walks through the door, we want them to feel welcome and relaxed.  Getting to know each customer is really important to us, understanding their style, what they’re shopping for and how we can help, so they feel immediately looked after.  

Once people feel at ease, choosing an outfit becomes an enjoyable part of the experience rather than overwhelming, which is so important for meaningful occasions. If someone isn’t able to visit in person, we’re still able to support them by sharing photos or arranging a video call. 

For someone with a wedding invitation but no clear idea of what to wear, how do you guide them? 

It always starts with a conversation. We’ll chat about where the wedding is, the time of day and the overall feel of the occasion.  

From there, we’ll bring out a selection of styles in the right sizes and colours for them to try. We guide them through the options, and sometimes gently encourage them to try something a little different if it feels right. We also keep a catalogue of outfits, so we can make sure we’re not repeating looks for the same event. 

You specialise in Mother of the Bride styling. How do you support customers on such an important day? 

Supporting Mother of the Bride customers is something we take great pride in, as every customer is our best advertisement. It’s such an important day, so we focus on offering reassurance, a personal, one-to-one experience and a completely pressure-free environment. Our aim is to help each customer feel elegant, comfortable and truly themselves. 

Your collections feature beautifully curated designer labels. What do customers value most about the in-store experience, and how does that help you create a complete look? 

There’s nothing quite like having a personal stylist, by seeing colours properly in person, trying pieces on and experiencing the quality makes a real difference.  

Trust is at the heart of what we do, and when customers feel confident in us, they’re happy for us to suggest accessories and finishing touches, allowing the whole look to come together effortlessly. 

How does having Welsh‑speaking support in store enhance the experience for customers? 

We’re really proud to offer that service. Julie, a member of our team is a Welsh speaker, and being able to chat with customers in Welsh makes a real difference and adds an extra level of comfort. It’s something that means a lot to people when they visit us. 

While weddings are a key focus, what often surprises customers about your range? 

People are often surprised by just how much we offer, from cruise wear to more casual, everyday pieces, as well as occasion wear. We’re always updating our collections too, so there’s a real sense of something new to discover each time you visit.
