Families can kick off the school holidays with a splash as the Torch Theatre launches its first Sunset Cinema event of the season on Friday 17 July.

Thanks to sponsorship from Milford Waterfront, audiences can enjoy a free afternoon screening of the much-loved Disney-Pixar adventure Finding Nemo on the Torch Theatre's brand-new Sunset Cinema LED screen. Gates open at Mackerel Quay, 1pm, with the film beginning at 2.30pm.

With the marina and waterway as a backdrop and plenty of room to relax, it's the perfect excuse to rediscover the exploits of Nemo as he tries to find his way home again.

As day turns to evening, the entertainment continues with a screening of the iconic 80s movie, Back to the Future, at 7pm. Movie-goers can buy tickets via the Torch Theatre website and are encouraged to arrive from 6pm with chairs, blankets and flux capacitors (IYKYK) at the ready before travelling back in time with Marty McFly and Doc Brown.

A selection of food and drink vendors will be available throughout the day and evening, making it the perfect start to the summer holidays.

Lucy Wonnacott, Head of Communications and Marketing at the Port of Milford Haven, commented: “Summer starts here! We’re delighted to kick off the Torch Theatre’s 2026 Sunset Cinema season and the school holidays with a free waterside screening of Finding Nemo. Then, as the sun goes down, film fans can buy tickets to join us for the ultimate time-travelling adventure, Back to the Future. There’s something special about watching a great film by the water, and we’re looking forward to welcoming families, friends and visitors for a day of cinema, community and summer memories at Milford Waterfront.”

Chelsey Gillard, "We're incredibly pleased to be partnering with Milford Waterfront to offer this special Sunset Cinema screening completely free for our community. Watching Finding Nemo on Mackerel Quay is going to be absolutely magical. Bring a deck chair, gather the family, and join Nemo, Dory and Marlin for an unforgettable adventure on the big screen. Let's just hope Bruce the shark doesn't decide to make an appearance! What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term and kick off the summer holidays.”

Tickets for both Finding Nemo (free) and Back to the Future should be booked in advance through the Torch Theatre (Torch Theatre booking office link).
