For many, today is the last day of term, with 7 weeks to fill with fun, laughter and memory making with the children.

Milford Haven has lots to offer so we’ve rounded up some ideas to keep the whole family entertained all summer long!

  1. Milford Haven paddling pool re-opens on Monday after several weeks of hard work by the voluntary group, Pembrokeshire Lido. The pool is suitable for children 0 – 8 who must be accompanied by an adult. A one hour session is free of charge. The pool will be open Monday to Friday 10am – 5:45pm and 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday until September 4th. What a perfect way to cool down just as we are enjoying a heatwave across the country.
  2. For all you Minions fans out there, you can catch Minions: The Rise of the Gru at the Torch Theatre from Friday 15th July – Friday 2nd September. In the latest Despicable Me offshoot series, we see how the world's greatest supervillain Gru first met his iconic Minions. DC League of Super-Pets will also be screened during the summer holidays, as well as a production of The Wind in the Willows on Saturday 27th August. The Torch Theatre is definitely one for the list on those wet and windy days.
  3. Get out on the water and have a go at paddleboarding or kayaking with Milford Beach Activity Centre. This fantastic new addition to Milford Haven is still running introductory rates of £10 per hour for a single kayak or paddleboard and £15 for a double kayak until Sunday 17th July. We don’t know about you but we think this is the perfect activity for all this lovely weather we’re expecting over the next few days. From Monday 18th July prices will be £15 per hour for a single kayak or paddleboard and £20 for a double kayak.
  4. Phoenix Bowl & Pirate Pete’s Adventure Play offers hours of indoor fun for everyone regardless of their age or ability. Head for the bowling alley or soft play and enjoy a bite to eat whilst you are there too.
  5. Visit the award winning Milford Haven Museum and step back in time to discover the history of the fishing industry, whaling, boat building, the development of the refineries and much more. Entry is just £4.00 for adults, £3.00 for children or £10.00 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children). There is also a programme of activities taking place throughout the summer holidays including crafts, storytelling and a story writing competition for ages seven to over seventies with the chance to win a Kindle.
  6. Milford Haven Leisure Centre have a whole host of activities taking place over the next 7 weeks. Enjoy play sessions, sports camps, youth nights, nerf gun battles, multi-sports and arts and crafts, with many of the activities free of charge.
  7. All 11 – 18 year olds can enjoy inflatables, chalk art, graffiti art, special effects make up, football, music, dance and more with Milford Youth Matters free and fun interactive programme of activities ‘Under the Bridge’. Sessions take place on Tuesday and Friday nights between 6pm – 8pm underneath Victoria Bridge.
  8. For the keen walkers among us, Milford Haven has some great walks suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and our four legged friends. Take a wander around the Waterfront, do the Scotch Bay Stroll or enjoy the Lower Priory Woodland Walk. There's also Heritage Walking Trails created by the young people of Milford Haven which celebrates the town’s stories and sense of place.
  9. Milford Haven Street Food Festival returns on Friday 5th August for 3 days of fantastic food. Work your way around an array of delicious street food vendors and enjoy spectacular views overlooking the Milford Haven Waterway and Milford Marina.
  10. Simply enjoy a couple of hours exploring Milford Waterfront. Visit the range of independent shops selling items such as handmade chocolates, natural and ethical skincare products, clothing, footwear and accessories and much more. Pack a picnic, or enjoy lunch at one of the many places to eat. Some of the restaurants and cafes offer a kids eat free promotion at lunchtimes during the week. Pick up an ice cream or a sorbet from The Scoop Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop or Velluto Gelato and take in the views of the boats coming and going at Milford Marina.

We are conveniently located in the heart of Pembrokeshire with good links by road, rail and boat. There’s plenty of free parking and toilets and baby changing facilities available behind The Scoop Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop and the Milford Marina Office.

We hope to see you over the summer holidays 😊
