We regularly feature the people behind the businesses at Milford Waterfront. We speak to everyone from artists and chefs to personal trainers to learn about their special skills and talents, their favourite dishes/items for sale, what they enjoy most about working at Milford Waterfront and lots more!

This month we meet the one and only Santa Claus!

What is the best thing about visiting Milford Waterfront on Christmas morning?

The best thing about visiting Milford Waterfront in the early hours of Christmas morning is seeing all the lovely local businesses and boats with their Christmas displays and lights lit up below my sleigh!

It gets better each year with more businesses and boats getting involved and spreading the Christmas cheer. I ho-ho-hope it continues!

Is there anything people should know about Santa that they may not know?

My sleigh is probably the fastest vehicle ever made reaching speeds of up to 650 miles per second, 3,000 times the speed of sound. It’s very fast as you can imagine!

I also have over 110,000 elves that work in my workshop at the North Pole making the great presents for me to deliver ready for the good boys and girls on Christmas Day.

Have you got any special skills or talents?

I have an air pilot licence to be able to fly my sleigh as it’s not always possible to travel on ground if there isn’t enough snow. Also, I bet you didn’t know I can play the trumpet!

What is your favourite Christmas treat and why?

Milk and cookies... it’s great for keeping my strength up when I’m out delivering all the presents. I’ve been told I can be a bit of a messy eater though and tend to leave a few crumbs here and there!

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

To be able to give out lots of great presents to the children who have been good throughout the year. I do keep a stock of lumps of coal for the naughty children. However, thankfully, the majority are very good so I haven’t used much coal over the years but it’s always important to remember to be well behaved just in case.
