Read moreIt feels like everyone is excited to get into the Christmas spirit early after a rather unsettling year, so why not put your creative talents to the test by working on an entry for our Christmas Card Design Competition? We think that a bit of Christmas craft is the perfect activity to put a smile on all our faces – who doesn’t love a bit of glitter and sparkle after all?!
We have four categories this year, including one for those aged 16 and over, so everyone is welcome to enter. With a rise in people taking up new hobbies including arts and crafts since the start of the pandemic in March, we’re looking forward to receiving lots of creative entries this year.
The categories for this year’s competition are:
- Reception to year 2
- Years 3 – 6
- Years 7 – 11
- Age 16+
To be in with a chance of winning an arty prize, you can hand-deliver your finished entry in the Christmas Post Box, which will be located in the hallway outside the Milford Marina Office, or you can pop it in the post to us (see details below).
The Christmas Post Box will be open from 10:00am on Friday 27th November to 5:00pm on Wednesday 9th December.
How to enter
- Get creative and design a festive Christmas card using any materials you like. All we ask is that the design is created on card, and fits in an A5 envelope
- This is the really important part – complete the details on the entry form and put this in with your design – you can either print one off at home, or you’ll find some printed copies by the Christmas Post Box. If the entry is for someone under 16, this form must be completed by someone with parental responsibility for the entrant
- Post your entry in person in the Christmas Post Box which will be located in the hallway outside the Milford Marina Office, just by the internal stairs which lead to Martha’s Vineyard, or send it in the post to: Milford Waterfront Christmas Card Design Competition, c/o Marina Control, Cleddau House, Milford Marina, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire SA73 3AF
- Whether you deliver your entry by hand or send it to us, please make sure it’s with us by Wednesday 9th December at 5:00pm
The entries will be judged by In House Crafts, who are an independently run paper craft shop based at Milford Waterfront. They will be deciding on winner for each of the four age categories, who will each receive a prize.
The winners will be contacted on Wednesday 16th December and entries will be displayed around Milford Waterfront to add some festive cheer for the remainder of December.

Terms and conditions:
This art competition is promoted by Milford Waterfront (which is part of Milford Haven Port Authority). The competition is open to all ages and split into age groups from ‘Reception to Year 2’ to ‘16+’. Entries must be submitted into the Christmas Post Box which will be clearly signposted and located in the hallway outside the Milford Marina Office at Cleddau House, Milford Marina, underneath the internal stair way which leads to Martha’s Vineyard, or posted to: Milford Waterfront Christmas Card Design Competition, c/o Marina Control, Cleddau House, Milford Marina, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire SA73 3AF. Entries for under 16s must be submitted by a parent or guardian and a completed declaration form must be included with all submissions, regardless of age. Envelopes will be located by the Christmas Post Box, along with printed forms. Each entry must be the original work of the individual named on this form and only one entry may be submitted per entrant. Closing date for entries is 17:00 on Wednesday 9th December 2020. The entries will be reviewed by guest judges from In House Crafts and the winners will be contacted on Wednesday 16th December. All entries may be displayed at Milford Waterfront between 16th December and 24th December 2020, and Milford Waterfront shall be entitled to use entries for promotional activity, including use on its website and via social media channels. Prizes are subject to availability and all information is correct at time of going to print. No cash value, and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter's decision is final.
