If you’re stuck on what to do in Pembrokeshire over the coming weeks, we’re here to help! We know the summer holidays are a little different this year but there’s still plenty of reasons to visit Milford Waterfront. We’ve created a little list of things to do, perfect for keeping all the family busy!

#1. Let the good times (st)roll

Proven to boost mood and energy, walking has many benefits and with the stunning views of the Milford Haven Waterway and the picturesque Milford Marina, a casual stroll around Milford Waterfront is the perfect way to reconnect with the outdoors.

If exercise isn’t your forte, there are plenty of benches along the way to take a break whilst admiring the views. With an easy walk over the lock gates (when they’re closed) to Hakin, why not carry on your trip further and enjoy the scenic route back.

Please be mindful of the social distancing guidance in place, we’ve had some fun floor graphics installed to help you visualise how long 2 metres is – why not see if you can spot all 6 of them on your walk?

#2. A balanced diet is an ice cream in each hand

Summer is all about those fun sunny days full of laughter and it wouldn’t be complete without those dripping ice cream cones topped with fabulous flavours.

An activity the whole family can get involved in and although it’s not scientifically proven that ice cream makes you happier, it sure feels like it does!

The Scoop Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop are notorious for serving up Welsh SubZero ice creams with an ever-changing choice of delicious flavours to choose from. They even offer ‘Scoop’s Ice Cream’ which is paw-fect for dogs, so your furry friends don’t feel left out.

Make the most of the rest of July as it is National ice cream month after all! Or, why not make it a family tradition and have a “Frozen Friday” each week? With other cafés and restaurants offering takeaway ice-creams including Spinnaker Cafe, Impasto Pizza Bar and Crow’s Nest Cafe, you could even make it an ice-cream crawl!

#3. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade and have a good old-fashioned picnic

When the Pembrokeshire sun shines there's nothing better than enjoying a bite to eat with your friends or family. Overlooking the stunning waterway, our popular picnic area is located on the grass area by The Scoop Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop.

Eat al fresco by bringing your own spread (baskets and blankets are warmly welcomed) full of all your favourite foods whilst you spend some quality time with loved ones. It’s the perfect escape from your daily routine!

If you have any rubbish or leftovers, we kindly ask that you use the bins provided.

#4. Shift into feast mode!

Here at Milford Waterfront, we have a fantastic selection of eateries to choose from offering some of the best food around. With a range of refreshing beverages and delicacies available such as authentic Neapolitan pizza, fresh Milford-landed fish, flavourful curries and decadent desserts, there will be a dish suitable for everyone! I'm not drooling, you are…

With plenty of cafés and restaurants offering takeaway food and al fresco dining in their outdoor seating areas (indoor seating allowed from the 3rd August!), you’ll be spoilt for choice!

With limited spaces available, we suggest booking to avoid disappointment so please contact the business directly for further information.

#5. When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping

By shopping locally you’ll be met with a range of products and gifts including stylish clothing and accessories for all occasions, handmade cushions and pillows, stunning jewellery, Pembrokeshire inspired gifts and more!

#6. Capture the moment

Taking photos are an easy way to record the little moments that are meaningful but can easily be forgotten. Milford Waterfront is a haven for photographers and those who appreciate a stunning sunset. With spectacular views over the Milford Haven Waterway and Milford Marina some shots are just too beautiful not to capture.

If you would like to share your photographs, Milford Marina run a Photo of the Month competition which focuses on capturing the spirit of the Milford Haven Waterway, including the scenery, wildlife, coastline and sunsets, the boating community, and Milford Marina itself. All abilities are encouraged to enter, and you could win a voucher to spend at Milford Waterfront. Further details can be found on the competition page.

If you’d like to extend your visit and stay overnight, then take a look at our beautiful accommodation options with stunning views and ideally located to explore all that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
