Each month we will be giving you the chance to find out about the people behind the businesses at Milford Waterfront. We'll be speaking to everyone from artists and chefs to personal trainers to learn about their special skills and talents, their favourite dishes/items for sale, what they enjoy most about working at Milford Waterfront and lots more!
Veterinary Surgeon and Owner of All Pets Vet Care
What is the best thing about working at Milford Waterfront?
I love it when yet another boat passes the window of my consulting room. It’s so surreal and makes me smile. I love to watch the comings and goings of the different vessels in the harbour – you come to work and suddenly there is a new enormous ship anchored up, which wasn't there the night before when you left. It’s also nice to be able to go for a drink along the waterfront, with the clinking of the masts of the yachts as a backdrop.
Is there anything people should know about All Pets Vet Care that they may not know?
We are happy to show clients “behind the scenes” whenever possible. We do everything in-house; operations, x-rays, ultrasounds and we still run our own emergency service, so that people don't have to travel out of hours to a different provider who is not familiar with their pet. For those who are unable to come in, we offer routine house visits on 3 mornings a week. We go as far west as Dale, as far north as Nolton and as far south as Angle for just an additional £20 on top of normal charges.
We’re also celebrating our 10th birthday this month. We’ve gone from just 3 members of staff to 16!
What has been your favourite day in work and why?
It's when something throws the routine out and everybody chips in to help and keep the ship afloat. It might be when we get an emergency late in the day and team members who are not scheduled to work stay a bit longer to support those who are and make helping that animal their priority.
