Name

Ashley Jenkins

Job Role

Store Manager at Costa Coffee Milford Haven Drive Thru

What is the best thing about working at Milford Waterfront?

I’m really excited about the redevelopment and regeneration of the area and it’s great to see different generations and cultures working together to make it happen.

Is there anything people should know about the business that they may not know?

We’re not just a drive thru which a lot of people still seem to think we are. We have seating for 65 people inside, and 32 outside.

We offer seven different milk and milk alternatives for customers to tailor their coffee choice; Whole Milk, Semi-Skimmed Milk, Skimmed Milk, Soya, Coconut, Almond and Lactofree Semi-Skimmed Milk.

We also work very closely with Milford Youth Matters to work with young people in the area. They’ve painted the planters out the front and we did a litter pick with them over the summer. We’ve since taken on a couple of staff as a result of working with them.

Have you got any special skills or talents?

This isn’t a skill or a talent, but I can talk for Wales and I absolutely love meeting new people. I enjoy sea kayaking and I’ve recently started a paddle boarding course. I am a proud Milford Waterfront Ambassador, and I sit on the Sense of Place Board which is working towards developing Milford Haven as a vibrant tourism destination.

What is your favourite dish at Costa and why?

I am partial to a Mince Pie and our Black Forest Hot Chocolate at this time of year. I love our Christmas range and seeing what’s new every year.

What has been your favourite day in work and why?

It has to be our opening day on St David’s Day on the 1st March. It was a record day with 210 vehicles going through the drive thru, the first of which was Dai at 5:30am on his tractor! He blocked the drive thru so that he could be our first customer and get a free refillable cup! It was a great day with the school singing and Cllr Rose Gray, Mayor of Milford cutting the ribbon to officially open the business.
