Visitors to Milford Waterfront are receiving a warm ‘Croeso’ from a team of newly trained ambassadors.

Around sixty people have taken part in training days co-ordinated by the Port of Milford Haven and delivered by Angharad Wynne aimed at promoting a sense of pride in the town. She encouraged everyone to share their knowledge and experiences of Milford Haven’s past, present and future with each other which included the Vikings, the energy industry and the exciting multi-million pound development plans for the waterfront.

The ambassadors gathered at Milford Haven Museum recently to celebrate the scheme and received certificates and badges in recognition of their enthusiasm and commitment. The group is made up of a diverse mix of positive and passionate people including business owners, port employees, museum volunteers and local residents who all bring their own unique ideas to the table.

The ambassadors were presented with certificates by Director of Property and Tourism at the Port of Milford Haven, Clare Stowell, who said “This training has been invaluable and I think we all learnt new things about our history and culture that helped us uncover what makes us truly unique. We hope the ambassadors will now spread that message far and wide to encourage those who haven’t visited Milford Haven before to come here and to remind locals about what a great asset we have.”

She added “This summer has been really busy at Milford Waterfront with over 3,000 visiting cruise passengers, family fun days, the launch of the new Discover Coast and Cleddau boat trips and the Welsh heats of the British Street Food Awards. We still have lots to come including a 5k charity fun run in September, fireworks for Bonfire Night and, of course, Christmas.”
